In today's world
snakes induce the strongest emotions in people, than any other animal
species, from fear to fascination. Some people think that snakes are
slimy, icky, cold, that they hunt people...
None of that is true!
These very elegant and smart animals are nature's effective controllers of
mouse and rat populations.
In the Vugrovec area we can currently
find 5 species.
Why
only 5?
Those are:
!All Croatian snakes are protected by law and it is illegal to remove them from their habitats (without a permit), hurt them and/or kill them!
* There are 16 species of snakes in
Croatia.
